Frequently Asked Questions
Please review pet restrictions on your rent/lease agreement or condo/homeowners’ association rules or bylaws and bring a printed copy to K-9. Often breed and size restrictions are present and must be considered when finding the best fit for your family.
You do have to be 21 to adopt. If you are lucky enough to look that young, please be prepared to show ID.
We highly recommend a meet-and-greet with your dog and the K9SRL dog you are interested in adopting. For some of our dogs, a meet-and-greet is required. If you bring your dog to the kennel, please leave your dog in your vehicle until a K9SRL representative can direct you to where the meet-and-greet will be held.
It is always a good idea to have every family member with you when choosing a new dog to adopt. If there are family members who cannot come to the kennel, we may need to speak with them on the phone. We reserve the right to require all family members be present at the time of adoption.
We will keep your newly adopted dog for 3 of our business days with a $50 cash or $60 credit card deposit.
Some of our dogs are ready to go home the same day they are adopted, but for others, there may be a wait.
Allow the dog to decompress in your environment. Once adjusted, start socializing and training.
