Welcome to K-9 Stray Rescue League

Non-Profit
Every dog we welcome is chosen with care. By focusing on temperament and overall well‑being, we set both dogs and adopters up for lasting success.
How We Started
K-9 Stray Rescue League was founded in 1990 and has been providing thoughtful, responsible rescue for over three decades. We are a Michigan nonprofit committed to giving dogs from high‑volume shelters—many with medical needs, uncertain pasts, or limited options—the second chance they deserve.

Passion Driven
Our work is rooted in compassion and realism, guided by patience, experience, and deep respect for each dog’s unique story.
Through collaboration with shelter partners, fosters, adopters, and veterinarians, we help dogs move forward—out of overcrowded shelters and into safe, loving homes where they truly belong.
Our Impact
Over the decades, we've rescued thousands of dogs. Each one receives individualized care, attention, and love — because we know that every dog matters.
Join Us
Whether you're looking to adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate — we’re glad you’re here. Together, we can give more dogs the futures they deserve.
Why We Do It
We’ve seen what love can do. A scared dog becomes a loyal companion. A second chance becomes a lifelong bond. That’s why we show up — every day, every dog.
