Well hello,
My name is Reese, like the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. My birthday is April 2, 2026, which puts me at just about 5 months old. I was surrendered to K9 due to being involved in a golf cart accident that left my femur broken. My hero vet saved my leg and has given me a fantastic prognosis. It has been a difficult time having to always wear a cone and stay 'calm'. Hopefully if you are reading this, you know that a Doberman is anything but calm.
I am very smart. I have learned sit, lay down, and place. We are working on stay, leave it and leash walking. I am a velcro dog and prefer to be anywhere you are. I currently go to work with my foster mom and really enjoy the routine. I am great in the car. I will need work on focusing / redirecting as when I see something new I instantly bark. I also like to put everything in my mouth, just like a toddler. I am looking for a person who is ready to invest a lot of time into me to guide me into being the best dog I can be. A home that has working dog / high drive experience is going to be important. Having a trainer lined up is also a plus. I should be cleared by the vet and ready to head home in just a few weeks. Are you ready for a protector, best friend, clown, and maybe a pain in the butt at times? I will need a home where any children are at least 12 years old as I am still puppy mouthy. Hope to meet you soon.
If you are interested in Reese and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend!
*Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
