What a beautiful gray color Millie is! She is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 34 pounds.

Meet Millie, a sweet young girl who despite her timid, under confident nature, has a heart brimming with potential love. Millie had a rough start in life, having been found living in a basement with several other dogs, but she is ready to leave that life behind and embark on a new adventure with you. Millie is a gentle soul who needs a patient leader to help her blossom. She can become quite overwhelmed with too much going on and can shut down. Millie will need an adopter who has the time to help build her confidence and trust with humans. She has come a long way already since her arrival at the rescue, it has been amazing to watch. She is highly food-motivated, so that will make a great tool to build trust. Millie is on the path to discovering her true self and just needs a supportive family to show her the way. Millie will also need some type of a containment plan upfront while building trust as she may still spook at new things and when she gets scared, she looks for an escape route. A quieter, more predictable type home would be perfect for Millie and any children in the home will need to be at least 13 years old. Millie would love it if you came to meet her and give her a chance, she will require extra patience and guidance, but she will be forever grateful.

Millie is wonderful with other dogs and has to have a furry sibling in her new home to help boost her confidence and help her learn to trust humans. She came to the rescue with her best friend Roberto, as you can see in her video, she is being silly playful through the fence with him while their kennels were being cleaned. She just loves to be with other dogs, and it is an absolute must that she has another dog to be with in life.

If you are interested in Millie and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend!

*Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
